For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 (ESV)

We do not accomplish sanctification through our self-efforts. God is the one who is working in our lives to transform us into the likeness of his Son Jesus.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)

We do not accomplish sanctification through our self-efforts. God is the one who is working in our lives to transform us into the likeness of his Son Jesus.

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son. Romans 8:29a (ESV)

We do not accomplish sanctification through our self-efforts. God is the one who is working in our lives to transform us into the likeness of his Son Jesus.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6 (ESV)

A person should not believe that one’s own abilities are sufficient to properly handle the demands one faces in this life here on earth. Instead one should completely demand on God’s sufficiency and intervention in their life.
Slide 1
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 (ESV)

King Solomon had great wealth, tremendous wisdom, and excessive passion during his lifetime, but these things did not provide the satisfaction he was wanting. He summarized what he had come to learn in these Bible verses.
Slide 1
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 (ESV)

In order to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly before God, we need God’s intervention in our life. Ask God to produce these qualities in your life.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’ Romans 1:16,17 (ESV)

The gospel message is that Jesus’ death on the cross paid the debt that we owe for our rebellious sins against God and that we can be forgiven of our sins and restored to fellowship and made right with God if we admit our rebellion against God’s authority in our lives and surrender our lives to the lordship of Jesus.
Slide 1
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. Romans 1:18 (ESV)

The wrath of God is the justified consequence that a person experiences when they refuse to accept God’s provision for the forgiveness of their sins and continue being enslaved to the rejection of God’s authority in their life.
Slide 1
For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:19,20 (ESV)

Man will be without excuse when he has to give an account of his life before God. If man says that he did not know that God existed, he will be lying because God has made himself known to every person through his creation. Every person has some perception of God’s character and power.
Slide 1
For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God, or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. Romans 1:21,22 (ESV)

When a person refuses to honor God and to express gratitude to him, their reasoning becomes useless and they cannot see the path of life because the path is cloaked in darkness instead of light. In their foolishness they actually believe that they have wisdom.
