Just like Jesus did, we should speak with truth and grace. One who lies is following after the ways of the devil.

In order to walk in the ways of wisdom, knowledge, discretion, and understanding, we must give attention to and seek wisdom and understanding. Our minds must experience a renewal so that we think properly toward God, others, and ourselves.

One who follows the path of wickedness seeks to deceive others so that they can benefit personally even though it may bring harm to others in some manner.

A person cannot be unfaithful to the person whom they are married to and not suffer detrimental and destructive consequences.

for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her. Proverbs 8:11 (ESV)

All of the things in this world including jewels that people consider valuable do not measure up to the value of having wisdom.

The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. Proverbs 8:13 (ESV)

The person who views God with admoration and respect and submits to his authority will hate evil. Pride, arrogance, evil, and devious speech are things that God hates.

Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. Proverbs 8:33 (ESV)

We should give attention to and listen to sound instruction and not neglect it in order to be wise.

For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord, but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death. Proverbs 8:35,36 (ESV)

The one who finds wisdom discovers life and experiences favor from God. However, the one who fails to find wisdom brings trouble on themselves and those who hate wisdom love destruction.

If a person refuses to gain knowledge and insight, it prevents them from experiencing life more fully.

A wise person will benefit from instruction by becoming wiser, and one who walks rightly with God and others will gain knowledge and understanding.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. Proverbs 9:10 (ESV)

We should respect and submit to God's authority over our lives. We gain knowledge and understanding for life by reverencing God. It is foolish to despise wisdom and instruction because if we do we will suffer harm.
