If we must allow evolution an infinite time to get started as stated by Sir Arthur Eddington, then there is a problem because according to Hugh Ross, there are many independent lines of measurement that validate that the universe started 13.73 billion years ago with better than 1 percent precision. Using the probably of one in 10100,000,000,000 of the simplest living cell reassembling itself under ideal conditions, which was the calculation of scientist Harold Morowitz, compared to the number of opportunities, 1084, if one were to convert all the material in the visible universe into amino acids and nucleotides, which are the life building blocks, and attempt to assemble them once every microsecond for the entire age of the universe, then one will realize that there has not been anywhere near the time in the life of the universe for natural causes to create life.
In the early 1960’s Princeton physicist Robert Dicke discovered that several physical constants could not vary by a slight amount in order for the universe to contain physical life. By 2008 another scientific team had identified 140 characteristics of the universe and physical laws that required fine-tuning. There have been over 900 characteristics for the Milky Way Galaxy and our solar system identified that also require fine-tuning. The fine-tuning of so many characteristics of our universe, galaxy, and solar system logically leads one to the conclusion that a supernatural Creator intentionally established them.
